  • While learning about the types of bone fractures in middle school, Karen passed out and they sent her home for the day.
  • Karen was originally planning to go to college to play field hockey. One week before pre-season, she decided to apply to the local nursing school in Lancaster, PA. There was one opening left. She was accepted and became a nurse instead of a field hockey player! 🤪
  • Karen has worked for STAT MedEvac for 5 years. She has been a critical care nurse for 22 years. Prior to STAT, she worked in the Trauma Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and the ICU float pool.
  • She has been married for 22 years. Karen has a 17-year-old son who is a senior in high school this year. She is also a Billet Mom to multiple junior hockey players. The hockey season was canceled this year, but typically they have 2 junior hockey players living with them for 8 months out of the year. The most players they had living in their home at one time was 4!
  • Karen loves photography. She is known to always have her camera with her. She also enjoys hiking, archery, playing games, and time with family.
